Maddie

Bengal cats are a hybrid breed that resulted from crossing a small, wild Asiatic cat, and domesticated cats. Maddie was previously in a private breeding program, but when she was retired, a former colleague of mine, Roberta "Bert" Szala and her husband Peter took her home. When Bert and Peter had twin girls born somewhat premature, they became concerned about Maddie's propensity to jump into the crib with their newborns, and offered her to us. Peter in particular was saddened by losing Maddie, as she and he had become particularly close: she would always jump into his lap when he sat down to work on his home computer. Maddie has fit right in to our household, which she clearly rules, and which she has kept free of mice.
