Directions
to Blue Heron Farm |
From points south (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc.), take any appropriate roads north (e.g. I 95 or I 84 through Connecticut) which intersect I 91 (beginning at New Haven Connecticut). Follow remaining directions below. From points north (Eastern Canada, Vermont, etc.), take any appropriate roads south which intersect with I 91 (beginning at Derby Line Vermont). Follow remaining directions below. From points west and east on the Massachusetts Turnpike, exit at the intersection with I 91. Follow remaining directions below. From either direction, take I 91 until the Greenfield exit (Exit 26), which is Route 2 West (The Mohawk Trail, towards Williamstown and North Adams). Go about 18 miles on Route 2 West into the village of Charlemont. It is also possible to reach Charlemont from eastern New York State (Albany, Poughkeepsie, Troy), by picking up Route 2 east, passing through North Adams, Mass. In the Village of Charlemont, look for Route 8A north (Toward Heath Mass. and Jacksonville, Vermont), and turn right onto 8A north. At that junction, you are about 2 miles from the farm. Shortly after turning onto 8A, you pass over a temporary metal bridge next to a wooden covered bridge. Continue on 8A until you see the third left hand turn. This is Warner Hill Road #2 (there is a sign), and starts as a paved road which goes up a steep hill. Continue up Warner Hill for about 3/4 mile until you come to a 3-way fork (there are no other branches or turns). At this point, take the left-most fork (at a sign for Warner Hill Rd. #1), continue to the end, and you're at the farm. |
